Professional Development Module Blog.

Hello, I am Jacob Baggs and Until May 2017 I will be a student of Bath Spa's studying a BA(hons) in Popular Music Performance and Production at University Centre Weston. On this course there are three modules: a dissertation module, a specialist skills module and a professional development module. I had figured out from before i started the course what i wanted to do for the former two modules, however I had no clue what to do for the latter.

Ideas that were floating around my head included: being a manager of an artist, looking into becoming a booking agent and becoming a songwriting teacher. In the end I decided that none of these were the right choice for me, therefore i put off thinking about the whole module for 2 months resulting in this first blog post is in December.

However a couple of weeks ago when i was doing research for my dissertation into Grime music, i discovered that many Grime artists lease beats from music production companies. As creating beats for Hip Hop and Grime was a hobby of mine already, this seems to be the perfect avenue for me to go down for my professional development.
